Come and Hear…The Maven of Stay-at-Home-Mayhem!

The Maven is one of the most interesting bloggers around. Sassy, chatty, and full of life, The Maven – Amanda to her friends – has lived a couple of lifetimes and lived to tell the tale. She’s a full-time mother to three boys, all of whom bring their own challenges to the table. She’s an ex-alcoholic, and her journey from the bottom to suburban Ottawa is quite a story – a story she’s still sharing. She’s a postpartum doula, and she’s passionate about breastfeeding – although she can be hilarious and snappy at times, when she talks about helping new families work through this sometimes difficult time, you can see her soft, caring side.

She’s a writer, a blogger, a runner, and a vegetarian (well, except for fish). She’s an expert on Kawasaki Disease, not that she ever wanted to be. She’s had more than her fair share of parenting issues, but meets every life event with a rib-cracking sense of humour.

And of course, she is the second most popular citizen of Ottawa, after the Prime Minister (although recent polls show her closing in fast). No wonder her life is full of Stay-at-home-Mayhem.

The Maven isn’t one to be shy and retiring but this is her first time at the mike, so come show your support at Blog Out Loud on July 7.
